I now present you a feast of knowledge

Some of you may know that for a few months Adam Walters and myself have been working on a project to scratch an itch we had. One day I had this realization that, as software developers, we don’t have a formal place for education after any schooling/training we may have received. I mean we have books and articles that are filled with information but more and more I found that our knowledge is coming from conferences and user groups. More are popping up all the time and have become more easily accessible to a lot of us.

I am not able to go to many conferences but still thirst for the smarts that they ooze. Luckily conference videos are becoming more and more popular and for the most part are freely available. The downside is that they are scattered across the interweb, we aim to change that.

So with that we present this gift to our community… Confed! Our goal is to be the go-to place when you are looking for some knowledge contained within video format from a conference you may or may not have gone to. Right now we are mostly focusing on the Ruby and Agile community as this is what we know. For now we have chosen to curate the data as we want to have to best and most complete listing of information we can have for our users. There are many exciting features on the way but for today we want you to take a look at the site, start using it, and hopefully provide some feedback to let us provide you with the best possible experience.

We are still polishing up the experience but sometimes you just have to let your project free. We hope you like it and find a value in its contents!

Now go get yourself some tasty knowledge!
